Affiliate marketing combined with the internet allows anyone to easily create an online business. But should you start an affiliate marketing business as a beginner, or there are better ways to get started?

This is one of the most common questions I get and the answer isn’t always that simple.

Why?

Because the answer mostly depends on the individual’s situation and goals. Therefore, down below, I’ll tell you the pros and cons of affiliate marketing, whether it’s a good idea to get started with it as a beginner – but I’ll also share my great plan on how to approach becoming financially free online.

Is Affiliate Marketing the Best Business Model for a Beginner?

The answer to this question is yes and no.

I’ve mentioned that the answer depends on the individual and its own goals and needs, right?

Affiliate marketing is a great business model if you:

• Have plenty of time
• Are willing to work consistently without seeing results up-front
• Are patient
• Don’t need active income right this moment

However, affiliate marketing isn’t a great business model if you:

• Are looking to quickly supplement your income
• Use it as a second-job opportunity to build a second income stream
• Are in a need of an active income right away

The thing with affiliate marketing is that it takes longer to become profitable, especially if you focus on growing your presence/brand online and acquire organic traffic.

But in the long run, for most patient people who have a high work ethic and are fully in it – they’ll benefit from all the hard work after the first year of the work.

Therefore, if you’re a beginner or not doesn’t really matter as long as you’re following the proper training.

You can learn almost everything about affiliate marketing on the internet. However, I highly recommend you look out for an affiliate marketing course or an educational platform.

Why?

Because affiliate marketing is full of smaller aspects that you have to learn and tackle, such as:

These are just some of the things, and yet there are many more. When it comes down to starting an online business around affiliate marketing – all of these aspects have to be on point.

If one is off, you might not be getting the desired results, or your website might not be living up to its potential.

I’ve written a couple of posts on financial freedom. It’s something that has a different meaning for everyone.

However, with the help of the internet, anyone can take action and work towards achieving it. All you need is a laptop and an internet connection, along with proper guidance, of course.

If you’re looking to replace your 9-5 job, what would be the easiest way to do it?

I have a great business plan in place that is built around internet marketing so here it is:

1. Stick to your job for a little longer
2. Freelance your skills and start making money online on the side
3. Keep on freelancing until it’s enough to replace your 9-5 job
4. Start freelancing full-time as you start a side-hustle (bridge business)
5. Work on both businesses until your side-hustle (bridge business) is doing better than your freelancing business

Not everyone is a big fan of freelancing, but the truth to be told – it’s the easiest way to make money online. It’s as simple as that and all you have to do is swap services for money.

However, freelancing can be tiring and it’s definitely not something everyone likes. But it’s a great way to start supplementing your income until you can actually replace your primary income.

When this happens, you will have more time to start your second business. A business that will be built around something you’re very passionate about.

This way, you’ll keep on freelancing as you build your passion business (bridge business). This is the perfect time to start an online business around affiliate marketing.

The second business will need time before it takes off. However, once it does – it’ll surpass your freelancing business sooner than you know it.

When this happens, I highly recommend trying to automate about 80% of the freelancing business by outsourcing.

This will leave you with a lot of time to work on your passion business, and yet both businesses will mostly bring passive income.

This will lead to a lot more free time, higher income, and a lot more opportunities down the road.

I know this might sound too easy, and of course, it takes a lot more time and work in practice. But would you struggle for about 5 years and then live the life on your own terms or you would rather stick to your day job for the next 20, 30, or even 40 years?

It’s very important to understand that affiliate marketing is a long-term business and it brings you success overnight.
